Wire guidance

WGU20 - Wire Guidance
The WGU system utilizes a wire embedded in the section of floor where the automatic steering is desired. The wire is excited by an audio-frequency current and produces a magnetic field. The magnetic field is detected by the vehicle based WGU system and the WGU system will command the APS unit to steer the truck along the wire.
The primary application of the unit is battery operated industrial lift trucks and the product is designed as an extension to the present line of controls and drives. WGU excels in narrow-aisle stores where automatic steering is safer and gives more rational truck control. Two antennas, one for each direction, are connected to the WGU giving offset and angle information for guidance after a pilot line. The WGU unit is a slave unit in a CANopen-system and utilizes a vehicle master controller for mode-handling.
