This unit discusses how to tune the SERVOSTAR® 600 velocity loop. It provides detailed instructions for configuring set-up screens. It discusses how to tune a system in ideal conditions, and how to deal with resolution and resonance issues. Included is a short experiment highlighting the capability of the Luenberger observer, an advanced servo technique that is implemented in this drive family.

Tuning Servo Systems

This series of Talking Servos is "Tuning Servo Systems." This 10-unit course covers real-world issues like tuning PI velocity loops and dealing with resonance and coarse feedback resolution. These presentations are in-depth. The entire series will run over four hours, providing a firm foundation in servo tuning for working engineers and designers. Currently the first six units are completed.
