NDC8 Platform

NDC8, the latest AGV controls platform from Danaher Motion supports multiple navigation technologies, wireless communication, and a distributed controller network. It is designed to meet the market's need for future openness where system integration is increasingly important.
When designing NDC8, the main objectives have been focused on customer demands. The system is designed for future expansion allowing shorter lead times to adopt new technologies and functionality. Stringent quality demands and basic requirements such as single point fail-safe solutions and long system up-times have been part of the design requirements. All in all, the design secures the supply for the driverless market.
NDC8 supports multi-navigation, wireless communication, and a distributed controller network. These technologies aim at providing the customer with the best of possibilities to access the system, locally or remotely, and the possibility to build flexible systems.
In all, NDC8 is heading for a future openness where system integration will be increasingly important. Using standards such as softPLC (IEC 61131-3) and CANopen makes it easier to integrate third party solutions in the driverless system. This will keep NDC8 state of the art in the future and also reduce system life cycle cost.
